On Wednesday, October 16, the inspiring Glitter & Glamour event took place in Roermond, organized by Foxer Talent Foundation and Wings School Community. The aim of the day was to inspire children and help them develop their talents through various workshops and activities. Think, for example, of sports, creativity, beauty, personal care, and learning about wigs for children.
Children also wear wigs: Educational with a Wig Quiz
Adore My Wig was invited to give the children a glamorous makeover using wigs! For this, Adore My Wig had a special activity: a wig quiz for children, and they also had the chance to try on wigs worn by their favourite celebrity or Disney character.
The quiz was not only fun but also educational, aimed at raising children's awareness of why children and adults sometimes wear a wig. By learning about conditions such as alopecia or the effects of chemotherapy, the children gained more insight into how to respond if a classmate, for example, wears a wig. The emphasis was on understanding and support, so they could help and comfort their friends in difficult times.
Wigs for children and their reactions
One of the absolute highlights of the event was the children trying on wigs themselves. The excitement and curiosity were palpable as they browsed through the different wigs. Our wigs range from colourful styles to wigs inspired by celebrities and popular characters. Once they chose a wig and put it on, they were often surprised by the transformation. Discovering how a wig can completely change your appearance brought much laughter and admiring looks in the mirrors.
Why this educational experience is important
Trying on wigs goes beyond just having fun. For many children, it was a chance to understand what a wig can mean for someone who wears one for medical or personal reasons. The moment of wonder often turned into reflection when they heard why some people need a wig. This experience gave them not only insight but also a valuable lesson in empathy and care for others. Trying on a wig became a symbolic moment. After all, children learned in a playful way how important it is to treat people who are different or facing difficult situations with respect and understanding.
Moreover, the activity created a sense of togetherness. Children encouraged each other, gave compliments, and helped each other choose a style. This not only strengthened their self-confidence but also showed how important it is to support one another and approach each other positively. By combining fun with a deeper message, trying on wigs became a memorable moment!
